Web Site Development 3/29/2016

I learned that you can modify a lot of things using codes. You can upload a google map so easily. It was kind off difficult at first, but later on you get the hang of it. It was an interesting project because you get to know how embed codes work and operate.

Web Site Design & First Impressions 2/9/2016

For their research, Sheng and Dahal enlisted 20 Missouri S&T students to view screenshots, or static images, of the main websites from 25 law schools in the U.S. After each viewing of a website, Sheng and Dahal asked students to rate sites based on aesthetics, visual appeal and other design factors.Through this research, Sheng and Dahal found that seven sections of the reviewed websites attracted the most interest from users. Like the institution’s logo, main navigation menu, search box, site’s main image, bottom of the website, site’s written content, site’s social networking links. Compared to my list most of the information here can be found on my list. The article would impact the design of my website, I would carefully think on how i would design the sections that attracted the participants.

12/7/2015 Following Instructions and Computers

Humans and Computers operate differently. Humans can make mistakes and fix them automatically, while computers when they make a mistake, they can t automatically fix it. Following instructions are sometimes difficult because we humans assume. Like the activity we did last week, there were fourteen set of instructs and we automatically started to do everything, but in the paragraph before the instructions, it said we should only stop at number 3. So humans make assumptions.

11/25/2015 Data, Modeling and Design

C.A.D is computer aided design. Computer Aided Designs has different features like 2-D and 3-D. There different kind of 3-D features, like 3-D printer and also Photoshop which is 2-D. Using Photoshop was an amazing experience because the tools I used were really cool and fun. I would like to continue to use Photoshop and learn more about it. Photoshop can influence politicians in a negative way because people can Photoshop an politician doing something illegal, but its fake and that can have an negative effect on the person.

11/16/2015 How Data Tells A Story

I learnt that not all representations of data are equal. There are 3 types of ways data are represented. List, Word Cloud and pictures. The computer cant collected data the same way human beings collect it. A picture data is easier for us, but hard for a computer. The easier data for computers to understand is a list data. While the list data is harder for humans to understand.

Web 1.0-3.0

In this unit, we learned a lot about web 1.0 to 3.0 and and also about search engines that are uncommon. Web 1.0 is a one way communication, web 2.0 is a two way communication and web 3.0 is basically social media. A lot have changed over the years when it comes to the web. There are a lot of search engines, popular and unpopular. There are google, bing, ask.com and then there are the unpopular ones like Blackle,  DuckDuckGo, Dogpile and a a lot more and surprisingly people know about them and use them.

Recommending a Computer 10/8/2015

The goal of this assignment was to find the best laptop for our consumer.The amount of storage needed for certain things on a computer is really important. The prices of laptops varies and is really important. While selecting a laptop, operating systems varies also.
